Durante m\u00e1s de 20 a\u00f1os se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como docente investigador en facultades de derecho, el mayor tiempo en la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Icesi en Cali, donde ejerci\u00f3 varios cargos administrativos, entre ellos, Jefe de Departamento, Director del Grupo de Investigaciones y Director de Posgrados en Derecho. Tambi\u00e9n fue profesor en la Universidad Eafit, la Universidad del Valle, la Universidad Externado de Colombia, la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, sede Bogot\u00e1 y la Universidad del Rosario. Ejerci\u00f3 el cargo de Magistrado Auxiliar en la Sala de Casaci\u00f3n Laboral de la Corte Suprema de Justicia.
