Dirigi\u00f3 la Biblioteca Luis \u00c1ngel Arango desde 1994 hasta el 2005, desde donde apoy\u00f3 la conformaci\u00f3n del nuevo sistema de bibliotecas p\u00fablicas de Bogot\u00e1 y el Plan Nacional de Lectura y Bibliotecas.<\/p>\n<p>Entre 1990 a 1994 fue Consejero Presidencial para los Derechos Humanos y Consejero Presidencial para Medell\u00edn.\u00a0Premio Nacional de Ciencias Alejandro \u00c1ngel Escobar (1988), Premio Nacional de Periodismo Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar (1988), y tambi\u00e9n recibi\u00f3 la\u00a0<em>Ordre des Palmes Acad\u00e9miques<\/em>\u00a0del Gobierno Franc\u00e9s (2001) y la Orden del M\u00e9rito del Gobierno Colombiano (2005).<\/p>\n<p>Dirigi\u00f3 las revistas Cuadernos Colombianos y An\u00e1lisis Pol\u00edtico.
